Bushbuck Mara Camp

The first things that come to your mind when the words ‘Masai Mara’ are mentioned is probably the Great Migration, the Big Cats, other Wildlife, Safari or one of Africa’s greatest destinations. Masai Mara National Reserve is a large game reserve in the South Western part of Kenya. It is famous for its exceptional population of the Big Cats, Game and is a part of the ‘Natural Wonders of the World’.

Every year between the months of July and October there is a migration so immense and spectacular that it is called the GREAT MIGRATION. Wildebeests, Zebra and Thompson Gazelle migrate from the Serengeti to the Masai Mara and Bushbuck Adventures gives you that opportunity to experience this spectacle.

Have you camped in the Masai Mara? Bushbuck Adventures has a camp situated only a few kilometres from the Aitong Hills on the Lemek Conservancy in the Masai Mara. http://g.co/maps/qerv
There is superb walking in the surrounding hills, across the open plains and in the forested valleys with local Maasai morans (warriors) as our guides. Walking safaris can be arranged during your stay at the camp.
These Maasai also take care of our security in the camp, adding local colour and interest, as well as ensuring our safety.

The Mara Camp is tucked away in a large copse of indigenous trees (olive, croton and euclea), some distance from the main road and with excellent access to areas rich in wildlife and flora.

Each tent contains beds, bedding, towels, wash-stands, chairs, tables, baggage stands, etc, etc, in our six spacious double tents (with verandahs), all fly screened to prevent intrusion of insects.

A well-sited, fully equipped, mess/dining tent (with fly screened sides) is available for all meals. Our fully equipped camp kitchen provides delicious food cooked by our experienced safari chef. Different dietary requirements can be catered for (vegan, vegetarian, allergies) but advanced warning is always preferred. Drinking water, sodas, beer and wine can be purchased from the bar at the camp.

For those who wish to experience the real Africa, this is the place for you. Away from the main lodges, the Camp is set back among a forest grove with access to a nearby river. Sometimes, Zebra, impala, gazelle, wildebeest, elephant, hippo and baboon, congregate around Camp during the day and at night one can hear the roar of lions and the whoop of hyenas.

The tented accommodation is clean and very comfortable and features include a comfortable bed, mosquito net, torch, private wash-stand, towels, a private flush toilet and a hot shower facility at the back of each tent.
The meals are very good and plentiful and staff will easily accommodate special requests such as preparing traditional food and other dietary restrictions. Afternoon tea or coffee with biscuits is always provided before the late afternoon game drive. The staff joins you at the campfire in the evenings and they have many stories to recount and are extremely knowledgeable of the area and its wildlife. For those who enjoy star gazing, the night sky is free of any "light pollution" making this a worthwhile experience.

The Camp is definitely recommended to those who have a sense of adventure and love outdoors.

It is also highly recommended for romantic getaway, families and tourists.
KARIBU (WELCOME) TO BUSHBUCK MARA CAMP.
